Payment Options
We understand that dental treatment is an important investment in your health. To help make care more accessible, Perth Prime Dental offers a range of flexible payment options so you can focus on your treatment, not the upfront cost.
Payment Plans We Accept
Need to spread the cost of your treatment? We work with several payment plan providers so you can pay in instalments rather than all at once.
- Afterpay – Split your payment into 4 interest-free instalments
- Zip Pay – Interest-free credit for everyday purchases up to $1,000
- Zip Money – Flexible finance for larger treatments with longer terms available
- Humm – Interest-free options with flexible repayment periods
Each provider has its own eligibility criteria, approval process, and terms. Our reception team is happy to discuss which option suits your situation.
Please speak with our team before commencing treatment if you’d like to use a payment plan — we’ll help you get set up.
Using Your Superannuation to Pay for Dental Treatment
In Australia, you may be able to access your superannuation early to help pay for medically necessary dental treatment under the ATO Compassionate Grounds rules (often referred to as compassionate release of super). This is your own superannuation and accessing it early may reduce your retirement savings.
Your Two Options
Option 1: Apply Yourself (DIY)
- Apply directly through the ATO and your super fund
- No service or admin fee
- More paperwork and follow-up required
- Higher risk of delays or rejection if documents are incomplete
Option 2: Use a Service Provider (e.g., SuperCare)
- An independent company manages the application on your behalf
- Helps ensure correct medical wording and supporting documentation
- Often a faster and smoother process
- A service fee applies (see below)
Cost & Tax (Important)
- ATO application: Free (whether DIY or via a service provider)
- Service fee: If using SuperCare, typically around $700–$800 (confirmed by them before you proceed)
- Tax: The tax outcome is generally the same whether you apply yourself or use a service provider
- No guarantees: A service provider does not reduce tax or guarantee approval
What Dental Treatments May Qualify
Eligibility depends on your circumstances and ATO/super fund requirements. Treatments that may qualify typically include:
- Dental implants and oral surgery
- Root canal treatment
- Other dental treatment required to relieve pain, infection, or functional problems
- Cosmetic-only treatment usually does not qualify
Before You Decide
- Consider the impact on your retirement savings
- If unsure, seek advice from your accountant or financial adviser
- Perth Prime Dental can provide the required treatment plan and written quote to support your application
- We do not provide financial advice or recommend one option over the other
Disclaimer: This information is general in nature and may not apply to your individual situation. Approval is determined by the ATO and your super fund.
Private Health Insurance
If you have private health insurance with dental extras, you may be eligible for rebates on many of our services. We offer HICAPS on-the-spot claiming, so you only pay the gap (if any) at the time of your appointment.
Not sure what you’re covered for? Bring your health fund card to your appointment and we’ll check your rebate before treatment begins.
